I wonder why the media widely reported about the new commission of the New York City Opera for The Perfect American, a piece about the late years of Walt Disney and NOT at all about Philip Glass next world premiere - Kepler, scheduled in September 2009 in The Landestheater Linz (Austria).
Could it be that the media world is a bit snobbish ? Doesn't it sound like Philip Glass' work is only worth reporting about if it is played in a major Opera House?
Anyway, the greatest of news is that The Perfect American will be staged by Improbable.
Their work on Satyagraha last spring at the Met (ENO's original production) was clearly a defining moment for me.
